The national center was established in 2001 by the National Development and Reform Commission with an investment of RMB 290 million. It is a representative unit in the field of Omics, high-throughput technique and molecular precision medicine in China, which is the secretariat and chairman of the National Technical Committee 559 on Bio-specimen of Standardization Administration of China(TC559), Biobank Branch of China Medicinal Biotech Association (BBCMBA) and the Integration Research Branch for Cancer Biospecimen of China Anti-Cancer Association.
